چکیده

From fruit bodies of the basidiomycete Hygrophorus eburneus (Bull.: Fr.) Fr. (Tricholomataceae) eight fatty acids (C16, C18) with γ-oxocrotonate partial structure could be isolated. Initial tests demonstrate their bactericidal and fungicidal activity. The structures of (2E,9E)-4-oxooctadeca2,9,17-trienoic acid (1), (2E,11Z)-4-oxooctadeca-2,11,17-trienoic acid (2), (E)-4-oxohexadeca-2,15dienoic acid (3), (E)-4-oxooctadeca-2,17-dienoic acid (4), (2E,9E)-4-oxooctadeca-2,9-dienoic acid (5), (2E,11Z)-4-oxooctadeca-2,11-dienoic acid (6), (E)-4-oxohexadec-2-enoic acid (7), and (E)-4oxooctadec-2-enoic acid (8) were elucidated on the basis of their spectroscopic data.

4-oxo-2-hexenal, a mutagen formed by omega-3 fat peroxidation, causes DNA adduct formation in mouse organs.

To identify mutagens formed in a model reaction of lipid peroxidation, linolenic acid methyl ester and hemin were reacted with dG. As a result, a 4-oxo-2-hexenal-dG adduct (dG*) was identified in the model reaction mixture. The 4-oxo-2-hexenal (4-OHE) showed mutagenic activity in the Salmonella typhimurium strains TA100 and TA104. After 4-OHE was orally administered to mice, dG, 4-OHE-dC- and 4...

Lipids and Fatty Acids of Nudibranch Mollusks: Potential Sources of Bioactive Compounds

The molecular diversity of chemical compounds found in marine animals offers a good chance for the discovery of novel bioactive compounds of unique structures and diverse biological activities. Nudibranch mollusks, which are not protected by a shell and produce chemicals for various ecological uses, including defense against predators, have attracted great interest for their lipid composition. ...

Oxidative decarboxylation of branched-chain 2-oxo Fatty acids by higher plant peroxisomes.

Peroxisomes from mung bean (Vigna radiata L.) hypocotyls catalyze, in the presence of branched-chain 2-oxo fatty acid, CoASH and NAD, the release of CO(2), and the formation of NADH and acyl-CoA. The acyl-CoA contains one carbon atom less than the branched-chain 2-oxo fatty acid and serves as substrate for the peroxisomal acyl-CoA oxidase. CO(2) release, NADH and acyl-CoA formation occur in 1:1...

Isothiourea-mediated asymmetric functionalization of 3-alkenoic acids.

Isothiourea HBTM-2.1 promotes the catalytic asymmetric α-functionalization of 3-alkenoic acids through formal [2 + 2] cycloadditions with N-tosyl aldimines and formal [4 + 2] cycloadditions with either 4-aryltrifluoromethyl enones or N-aryl-N-aroyl diazenes, providing useful synthetic building blocks in good yield and with excellent enantiocontrol (up to >99% ee). Stereodefined products are ame...
